Join us for an afternoon of sharp thinking and good company as the SAMRA Cape Chapter gathers for an event that puts AI and market research front and centre. We’ve lined up four founders who are each building something genuinely new at the intersection of technology and insight — and they’re coming to share what they’ve learned.
Tim Treagus (Yazi) will walk us through his hands-on evaluation of LLMs for building client reports. Kyle Findlay & Aldu Conelissen (Murmur Intelligence) will show us how brands can track what AI is actually telling consumers about them. Greg Streatfield (Knowsis) tackles synthetic data — what it’s worth, and how to judge it. And Sam Loggenberg (Insights Edge) reflects on where AI is reshaping qual research and where it’s bringing the most real-world benefit.
Four perspectives. One event. A conversation that’s only getting more relevant.
Once the talks wrap, stay on for a sundowner — skip the traffic, catch up with colleagues, and keep the conversation going over a drink. Good insights, good people, and a reason to linger — this is one evening worth clearing your diary for.
Guest Speakers
Tim Treagus is the Founder and CEO of Yazi, an AI-powered research platform that conducts interviews and surveys directly in WhatsApp — using voice notes, video, and adaptive AI probing to get richer, more human responses. Tim has worked across both research services and product, with clients ranging from Ipsos and Capitec to Harvard Business School.
Kyle Findlay is the Co-Founder of Murmur Intelligence, a data consultancy that maps complex digital spaces and tracks narratives for brands, political parties, NGOs, think tanks, and governments. Kyle brings deep market research roots to the digital world — he co-created the ConversionModel, once the world’s most widely used brand equity model, and led one of Kantar’s data science AI teams before striking out on his own.
Aldu Cornelissen is the Co-Founder of Murmur Intelligence, where he builds the tools that make sense of the digital square. With an academic background from Stellenbosch University and a focus on the technical and data science side of the business, Aldu is the engine behind Murmur’s ability to map complex digital spaces at scale.
Greg Streatfield is the Founder of Knowsis, a consultancy specialising in psychology-backed analytics and decision intelligence for consumer brands. Greg brings over two decades of experience leading customer and brand analytics at TNS/Kantar, dunnhumby — where he headed Customer Knowledge on Shoprite’s Xtra Savings programme — and Ogilvy.
Sam Loggenberg is the Founder of Insights Edge, a qualitative agency built on close to three decades of experience uncovering the emotions, tensions, and human truths that shape consumer behaviour. Sam has worked across more than 25 African countries and over 22 markets beyond the continent — and brings that depth of human understanding to a timely question: what has AI actually changed in qual research, and where does it bring the most meaningful benefit?
