Calling researchers with expertise in child participatory research — UNICEF wants to work with you.
UNICEF’s Office of Strategy and Evidence (Innocenti) has launched a call for proposals to establish Long-Term Arrangements (LTAs) with individual consultants for child participatory research.
What’s an LTA?
A pre-approved arrangement with UNICEF for recurring work. It carries no financial obligation by itself — but once selected, you’re vetted and approved in advance. Each time UNICEF needs support, a contract is issued for that specific assignment. In short: a standing relationship with UNICEF and a pipeline of potential work, without competing from scratch each time.
What’s the work?
Child participatory research means research with children (under 18), not just about them — involving them meaningfully in shaping research questions, gathering evidence, interpreting findings, and informing decisions that affect their lives. Selected consultants will help design and conduct studies and train UNICEF teams in these methods.
Who should apply?
Individual researchers with:
- A Master’s degree with a substantial component of qualitative research and/or children’s studies
- 5+ years of qualitative research experience with children
- Substantial participatory work with children
- Fieldwork experience in diverse contexts, including the Global South
- Fluency in English plus at least one other language
